‘Purpose’ and ‘fate’ are words that have not come up too many times throughout these reflections. These concepts are interesting to think about in conversation with a spiritual but not religious perspective as a relatively individualized (and therefore likely mostly autonomous) choice.
"Reading is a big part of my life, and the novel and poetry book both talk about religion and spirituality in an exploratory way and about how God is change and change is constant. I write about my takeaways from the books and literature I read in the pink reading journal in the middle of the two books. I believe in fate and think that everything I engage with has a purpose in some way, and reflecting on how what I’ve read impacts me and influences me is deeply spiritual for me. "
