Journal

Current Spiritual Expression

Most concisely, I would say agnostic

Upbringing

I was raised casually Catholic, which basically means I would go to church on occasion.

Curator Reflection

Of importance to this individual is the constancy of their journal’s presence. How does the amount of time spent with an object change its meaning and agency, both as an individual with a sacred object, and as a museum visitor viewing said object?

"My journal (which always lives in my backpack and is currently with me in the DesMoines airport where I am stranded right now) is partially a junk journal, so I keep little papers, stickers, and other random small objects from my life and travels and arrange them on the pages. I believe that, as opposed to one larger, higher power, that spiritual energy is spread out and passed between everything on Earth, whether it’s something super small or something big and magnetic. So the stuff in my journal, whether it’s random labels or notes from my dad, is all given meaning and/or power through myself and the people I know."
